The sum of the squares of two consecutive even integers is 100. find the two integers?

    X = smaller number

    x^2 + (x+2) ^2=100

    x^2+x^2+4x+4=100

    2x^2+4x-96=0

    x^2+2x-48=0

    (x+8) (x-6) = 0

    x=-8,6

    Must be positive. So, 6 and 8.
