3 people share restaurant bill of £30, therefore £10 each.

Waiter realises bill should have been £25, keeps £2 for himself,

gives £3 back to customers. The customers have now paid £9 each

3 x 9 = 27. 27+2 = 29. Where has the additional £1 gone

    Nowhere there was no additional dollar. The $30 minus the $2 the waiter kept and minus the $3 he gave back. $3+$2=$5, which would be $30-$5=$25
