    Width = x

    Length = x + 2

    Perimeter = 24

    Area = Width • Length = ?

    Perimeter = 24 = 2 (x + 2) + 2 (x)

    = 2x + 4 + 2x

    = 4x + 4

    = 20 = 4x

    = 5 = x

    Width = x = 5, therefore Length = (5) + 2 = 7

    Area = Width • Length = 5 • 7 = 35

    Area = 35 yards
