A blueprint for a house states that 2 inches represents 8 feet. If the width of a window is 2.5 inches on the blueprint, what is the width of the actual window?

    10 feet. You can prove this by dividing 8 by 2, with this you find that 1 inch on the blueprint is equal to 4 feet. then take half of 4 (2), and add it to 8 to get your answer.
