The shifting of an equation to the right will cause its x to be subtracted with 9 units. Also, shifting it down, will cause its y value to be subtracted with 1 unit. From the given equation,

    h (x) = 4x² - 16

the shifting will cause this graph to become,

    h (x - 9) - 1 = 4 (x - 9) ² - 16
