Phil has 18 shirts, 24 pairs, of pants, and 16 pairs of shoes in his closet, but one of the shirts is his favoritw. How many combinations of shirt, pants, and shoes are possible, assuming Phil wears his favorite shirt?

    since he is wearing his favorite shirt only calculate possibilities of pants and shoes

    so 24 x 16 = 384 different combinations of pants and shoes
