A spinner has eight congruent sections numbered 1 through 8. If the spinner is spun 1000 times, about how many times would it be expected to land on a number less than 4?

    This would be considered theoretical probability.

    The probability of spinning a number less then 4 : {3,2,1} is 3/8.

    No matter how many times we spin it the probability is the same.

    P (less than 4) = 3/8
