A regular equal sided octagon is formed by cutting 45-degree right triangles off of the corners of a square of side length d = 30. what is the area of the resulting octagon?

    The diagram below shows the octagon made of 15 right angle triangle cut from a square.

    The area of the square is 30*30 = 900 unit squares

    The area of half of the square is 900/2 = 450

    The area of the octagon is 15*450=6750 unit squares
