Mary has 10 yards of string. she uses 2 yards of string for a project. she wants to cut the remaining string into pieces that are 1⁄3 yard long. how many pieces can she cut from the remaining string?

    Mary has 10 yards She used 2 yards:

    She sis left with 10 - 2 = 8 yards

    She want to cut the rest at 1/3 yard long,

    8: 1/3 = 8 x 3 = 24 pieces
