The length of a rectabgular field is 18 m longer than the width. the field is enclosed with fencing and divided into two parts with a fence parallel to the shorter sides. if 216 m of fencing are required what are the dimensions of the outside rectangle

    fencing = 4x+36 + x (parallel to width)

    5x+36=216

    5x=180

    /5

    x=36

    width = 36m & length = 36+18 = 54m
