    The equation for the sin function is: Asin (BX-C),

    A is the amplitude.

    The period is: 2pi/B

    The phase shift is: C/B

    So, if we know the amplitude A, the period and the shift, we can calculate B from the period: B=2pi/period and we can in the next step calculate C = B*phase shift.
