    Cut 5/12 of his lenght

    remain 7/12 of his lenght

    7/12*L - 6/7 * 7/12*L=2 1/2 m

    7/12*L (1-6/7) = 7/12*L (7/7-6/7) = 7/12*L*1/7=L/12 = 2 1/2

    ⇒L=2 1/2 m * 12=5/2*12=30 m

    Original length was 30 m
