Andrew needs to rent a car for a one-week trip through Colorado. He is considering two different rental companies: the Mile High Rental Company which charges $160 per week plus 20¢ per mile and the Rocky Mountain Rental Company which charges $200 per week plus 10¢ per mile. If x = the number of miles driven during the week and y = the total rental cost (in dollars) for the week, which two of the following equations correctly model the rental cost for one week for these two companies?

    The two equations would be

    y = 160 + 0.20x

    y = 200 + 0.10x

    Both equations start out with the up-front fee, then add the cost for the mileage (rate times the number of miles).
