    We know that 2^5 = 32.

    But (-2) ^5 = - 32.

So in this case - 2 can not be used as a base.

    Also : 2^6 = 64

    ( - 2) ^6 = 64 (because an exponent is an even number)

    Answer:

    - 2 couldn't be used as a base to rewrite 32, but it could be used as a base to rewrite 64.
