Lisa has 1/3 of an hour to read and watch television. She wants to split her time equally between the two activities

    1/3 of an hour equals twenty minutes, so if she wanted to split her time equally it would be 10 minutes each. To put this as a fraction, multiply the 1/3 by 2, now we got 2/6, now 1/6 of her time is on TV and the other 1/6 is on reading.

    If she wants to split her time equally she should read for 10 min and watch tv for ten minutes. Each activity would last 1/6 of an hour.
