Calvin has two square gardens. The larger garden has sides that are 1 yard longer than the sides of the smaller garden. If the larger garden is 45 square yards larger than the smaller garden, what is the area of the larger garden

    Sides of larger garden: 23 yards

    sides of smaller garden: 22 yards

    23x23=529

    22x22=484

    529-484=45

    area of larger garden: 529 square yards
