    The value of x in the equation is 6

    First, you have to distribute 1/3 into 12x and 24 to get 4x and 8

    then you add 8 to both sides of the equation

    then you divide 24/4 to get 6

    Hi Tajmnaball10

    12x - 24 over 3 = 16

    12x - 24 = 16 x 3

    12x - 24 = 48

    12x = 48 + 24

    12x = 72

    x = 72/12

    x = 6

    Answer: x = 6
