    Ax+C=Bx+d

    Subtract C from both sides

    Ax=Bx+d-C

    Subtract Bx from both sides

    Ax-Bx=d-C

    Extract x from left side

    x (A-B) = d-C

    Divide both sides by (A-B)

    x=d-C / (A-B)
