What is - 4k - 7 + 5k? I need to know the steps in order to do this

    -4k - 7 + 5k ... the only thing we can do here is combine like terms

    ur like terms are - 4k and 5k because they have exactly the same variable.

    -4k + 5k = 1k or just k

    now we have : k - 7 or - 7 + k ... even though the - 7 didn't have any like terms, u cant forget about it

    answer is : k - 7 or - 7 + k <==

    First. You have to plus the negative 4K in the 5K together which makes it K or

    1K

    So now you equation would be: k-7
