    (3/4 + 3/8) - 5/8

multiply 3/4 by 2 to make it 6/8

    (6/8 + 3/8) - 5/8

    then solve the equation.

    (6/8 + 3/8) - 5/8

    9/8 - 5/8

    4/8 or 1/2

    3/4 = 4/8 (converting fractions)

    4/8 + 3/8 = 9/8 cups of juice altogether

    9/8 - 5/8 = 4/8 (taking away mags' amount)

4/8 is equivalent to a 1/2 so she still has 1/2 a cup of juice left.
