If Mary and Tom pu their money together they have £36 If Mary's money were halved and Tom's money doubled they would have £42. How much money does each have? : 36

    M+t=36

    M=36-t

    M/2+2t=42

    (36-t) / 2=42-2t

    36-t=84-4t

    3t=84-36

    T=48/3=16

    M=20
