Remember that a fraction is division of two numbers.

When you divide and one number is negative, the quotient is negative. For example - 3/4 = - 0.75 and 3/-4 = - 0.75.

If both are negative, the quotient is positive. For example, - 3/-4 = 0.75.

However, it is important to note that negatives on fractions are traditionally written on the numerator and not the denominator.
