Write an equation in the form y = mx + b for the line that passes through (1, - 10) and has a slope of 3.

    You do this one in the same way.

    Plug in the slope of 3 for m, and the x-y coordinates (1,10)

    10=3 (1) + b

    Solve for b.

    10=3+b

    b=7

    Your equation is: y=3x+7
