    complementary angles equal 90 degrees

    angle 1 = x

    angle 2 = 4/5x

    x + 4/5x = 90

    9/5x = 90

    x = 90 / 9/5 = 50

    angle 1 = 50 degrees

    angle 2 = 4/5 x 50 = 40 degrees
