One number is three times as large as another number. when the smaller number is increased by nineteen, the result is 6 less than twice the larger number. what is the larger number?

    X is the larger, y is smaller

    X=3y

    2x-6=y+19

    2 (3y) - 6=y+19

    5y=25

    Y=5

    X=15
