Dana has nine pairs of shoes. She wants to organize them in her closet so that they are placed in a row. In how many different ways can Dana arrange nine pairs of shoes in a row? The pairs will not be separated.

    There are 362,880 different possibilities.

    To find the number of possibilities, we just have to multiply the number of options for each place in the order.

    For the first pair, there are 9 options, then 8, then 7, ... all the way done to 1.

    We can write this as: 9! = 362,880
