    Number of permutations of 3 items can be selected from a group of 6

    = 6P3

    = / frac{6!}{3!}

    = / frac{6 x 5 x 4 x 3!}{3!}

    = 6 x 5 x 4

    = 120

    There are 120 permutations.

    Permutations of items b, d and f is the different arrangement using these 3 letters & they are

    bdf, bfd, dbf, dfb, fbd, fdb
