The correct answer is C) An increased amount of soil erosion and poor soil quality due to a lack of roots and nutrients. With deforestation, you lose many of the trees/roots that keep the dirt from moving, so when water runs over it, it takes more of the dirt with it. Long term, this can kill entire communities, which is why it is important to always replant the tress you cut down and to not cut all of the trees down from the same area.
