A rectangle has a area of 45 square units. The length is 4 units less than the width. What are the dimensions of the rectangle

    A = lw

    A = 45 unit²

    l = w-4

    45 = (w-4) w

    45=w²-4w

    w²-4w-45=0

    (w-9) (w+5) = 0

    w=9, - 5 so 9 is the width

    l=9-4 = 5 is the length
