    You have to move like kinds to the same side. I then would be 4x-3x=3+1

    Meaning your answer would be 1x=4 So x=4

    Check it by replacing ... 4 (4) - 1 = 3 (4) + 3

    16-1=12+3

    15=15

    Given 4x-1=3x+3

    First, get x on one side.

    Do this by adding 1 to both sides.

    4x-1+1=3x+3+1

    You get: 4x=3x+3

    Subtract 3x from both sides: x=3.
