The ages of the 32 recruits in police academy are normally distributed with a mean of 27 with a standard deviation of 2. What percent of the recruits are between ages 23 and 27?

    Z scores are (age - mean) / std dev

    = 23 - 27 / 2 = - 2 and 27-27 / 2 = 0

    Using the standard normal tables we find the required percentage is 47.73%
