    X * (x+6) = 40

    x^2 + 6x = 40

    x^2 + 6x - 40 = 0

    factor:

    (x-4) (x+10) = 0

    x = 4, - 10

    width = 4

    length = 6 + 4 = 10

    length = 10 feet, width = 4 feet
