Basically, in order for a triangle with sides ABC to be an actual triangle:

    A + B > C

    A + C > B

    B + C > A

So therefore, the only choice that doesn't work with 8, and 14, is 22 cm.

    This is because:

    14 + 8 > 22

    22 > 22

    which doesn't work.

    All the other ones, like

    22 > 18

    22 > 7

    22 > 15

All work. If you try it with the other things, they work too.

The third should be bigger than the difference 14 - 8 = 6 bigger then 6

and smaller than the sum bigger then 22 (2side on the same line, in opposite direction),

7,15,18cm can be the 3rd side.
