I got a couple more questions that i am confused about! Question 1: Describe how you would use the distributive property to simplify (39 x 5). (I think it may be 195 but i dont know if i worked it out right) Question 2: Your best friend tells you the solution of 375 = x - 28 is 347. Explain your best friend's error and tell him/her the correct answer

    39 * 5 is indeed 195. For the second part, the error is that your friend subtracted 28 from the left side (375) instead of adding it (inverse operations to get rid of the - 28). What you need to do is add 28 to each side to get x alone:

    375 = x - 28

    403 = x

    Does that make sense?

    1. 39*5=3 (13*5) = 3*13*5=15*13=195

    2. 375=x-28

    add 28, 403=x
