Two number cubes are rolled - one blue and one yellow. Find the probability that the blue cube is less than 3 and the product is 8.

Part a) Is this event independent or dependent? Explain why.

Part b) Find the probability that the blue cube is less than 3 and the product is 8.

    The blue cube shows a 2 has probability 1/6

    and probability that yellow shows a 4 (to get the product 8) = 1/6

    so the answer to Part b is 1/6 * 1/6 = 1/36.

    Not sure about Part a. I think the answer is dependent but not sure.
