What is the excluded value? y^2-y+5/y+4

    0
    Division by zero is undefined. So y cannot equal - 4.

    I assume you meant (y^2-y+5) / (y+4)

    If you actually meant what was typed:

    y^2-y + (5/y) + 4

    Then y could not equal zero.
