Area of roof of John's neighbor = 942 square feet.

    To find:

Difference in the area of roof of John and neighbor.

    Solution:

    Area of John's roof = ?

Roof of John is triangular and area of triangle is calculated as below:

    1/2 (base*height)

    1/2 (97.2*17.25) = 838.35 square feet

So, area of John's roof = 838.35 square feet.

Difference between area of John's roof and roof of neighbor = 942-838.35 = 103.65 square feet.
