    187 is the answer

This the easiest way to compute the answer.

Each carton has 12 eggs. Dale has 15 cartons. 15 multiplied by 12 is 180 or the equivalent 12 multiplied by 15. 180 plus the 7 eggs leftover is 187.

Regardless of the number, the focus should be on how many cartons multiplied by how many eggs can fit in one carton, plus the remainder.
