    3 (7/3w) = 14” (3)

    Formula for perimeter is 2L + 2w = perimeter

    2L + 2 (6”) = 28”

    2L = 28” - 12”

    2L = 16”

    L = 16”/2

    L = 8”

    Area = L (w)

    Area = 8” (6”)

    Area = 48 square inches
