A group of children are asked whether they prefer vanilla or chocolate ice cream. The data are collected in the table.     To find the percentage of the boys that like Vanilla ice cream, you will create a fraction of the number of boys that like vanilla, out of the total number of boys that were surveyed.

    Divide to use to make to a decimal.

    38/79 = 0.48 or about 48%

    For the girls that like chocolate, do the same thing. Total number of girls liking chocolate out of total number of girls surveyed.

    33/73 = 0.45 or about 45%
