    assuming to salve for x

    isolate the x term

    subtract 100 from both sides

    5x^2=-100

    divide both sides by 5

    x^2=-100/5=-20

    square root both sides

    x=√-1 times √4 times √5=i times + / - 2 times √5

    i=√-1

    the answer is x=-2i√5 or + 2i√5
