Henry needs 2 pints of red paint and 3 pints or yellow paint to get a specific shade or orange. If he uses 9 pints of yellow paint and wants the same orange color, how many punts of paint will he need together?

    2/3 = x/9

    cross multiply and divide to find x. 9*2=18 ... 18/3=6. He would need 6 pints of red paint

    8 pints red+9 pints yellow = 17 pints orange
