    6x+12y=24

    -6x - 6x

    subtract - 6x to both sides.

    12y=-6x+24

    divide by 12 to get rid of the 12 next to the y.

    y=-6/12x+24/12

    simply to the lowest term.

    y=-1/2x+2

    Answer:

    y=-1/2x+2
