    Assume that the can of soup has a cylinder shape with the volume of 553 cubic centimeter

    V of cylinder = Area of base circle * height of the can

    Area of a circle = pi*r^2

    V = pi*r^2*11==> pi*r^2*11 = 553

    ==> r^2 = 553/11*pi

    ==>r^2 = 16

    ==>r = 4 cm for the radius, diameter = 2r = 8 cm
