A model train uses a scale of 1:48. One car of the model train is 6 inches long. What is the length of the actual train car?

    So the ratio basically means for every 1 inch on the model it is 48 inches on the actual train

    So if the model is 6 inches the actual train is 48 x 6 which is 288 inches

    Therefore the actual train car is 288 inches

    288 somethings (feet?) long because if 1 in is 48 somethings the 6 is 48 * 6 somethings long or 288.
