There were 127 more fiction books than non-fiction books at a sale. After 103 non-fiction books were sold and 50 more fiction books were added, there were thrice as many fiction books as non-fiction books. How many books were there at the sale at first?

    127-Fiction more

    103-non fiction (sold)

    Added fiction-127 + 50 = 177

    Fiction-3 non fiction-1

    3u=177

    1u=1/3 times177

    =59

    Total=59+177-50+103

    =289
