Lef f be the function given by f (x) = x^3-6x^2+8x-2. what is the instantaneous rate of change of f at x = 3.

    First find the derivative of f (x) : -

    f' (x) = 3x^2 - 12x + 8

    So instantaneous rate at x = 3

    = 3 (3) ^2 - 12 (3) + 8

    = 27 - 36 + 8 = - 1 answer
