    Width = w

    Length = w + 1

    Area = 30

    w (w+1) = 30

    w² + w = 30

    w² + w - 30 = 0

    w² + 6w - 5w - 30 = 0

    w (w + 6) - 5 (w + 6) = 0

    (w + 6) (w - 5) = 0

    w = 5 or - 6

    Since the width cannot be negative, the width is 5 units.

    Hence, the width is 5 units and the length is 6 units.
