    Change the equation to slope intercept form: y = mx + b. m is slope and b is the y-intercept.

    7x+4y=10

    subtract 7x

    4y=10-7x

    divide by 4

    y = (10-7x) / 4

    y=10/4-7x/4

    simplify

    y=5/2-7x/4

    swap positions for correct form

    y = - 7/4x + 5/2

    slope = - 7/4
