21 students in michael's classroom are wearing jeans. there are 25 students in his class. michael says that 80% of his class is wearing jeans. is michael correct? explain your reasoning.

    No, Michael would not be correct. 84% of his class would be wearing jeans. I divided 21 by 25, which came out to be. 84.

    Michael said that 80% of his class is wearing jeans.

    So we can get the number of students wearing jeans by finding 80% of 25 students.

    80% of 25 = 25 * 80/100 = 2000/100 = 20

    So 80% of 25 students is 20 students.

    So, Michael is not correct as 21 students are not 80% of his classroom.
